By March 3rd, Starbucks will begin offering “pairings” of a tall coffee or latte with various breakfast foods such as oatmeal, coffee cake, or an egg sandwich for $3.95. I suspect this has something to do with McDonald’s 7.1% increase in same store sales in January.
Only a few months ago the CEO described Starbucks coffee as an “affordable luxury.” Looks like this has been cast aside and the new business model is combination discounts.
